Fenton Inn

The owners are incredibly nice and personable. The location is amazing if you want a quiet get away from all the hustle and bustle as you are well off the beaten path so to speak. Each day you are treated to a fresh breakfast including fresh fruit and homemade (delicious) granola mix. The atmosphere of this Bavarian style B and B is very homey and has plenty of amenities if you do not want to explore the area. However, within an hour is the drive through safari which is a great experience especially for the kiddos. Closer to the B and B are many trails including Crab Tree falls which we explored and the views were breathtaking. You are also minutes from wintergreen resort which has some activities available. We chose to go for 4th of July as Wintergreen has a huge fireworks display. We will definitely vacation here again!!!

We had an amazing honeymoon trip to The Fenton Inn! It truly felt like being inside a fairytale book. We stayed in the storybook cabin and it was peaceful and private but also a close walk to everything. The owners are so friendly and made the experience feel very personal and homey. Breakfast each morning was hot and delicious. The cherry on top was the homemade granola. It had a wonderful maple and cinnamon flavor. The inn was only minutes away from a handful of the Nelson 151 wineries and breweries making it a super convenient location as well. Bonus… they have 2 adorable and friendly cats on the property!!! Being greeted with leg rubs each day made the experience that much better. We’ll be back!

This bed and breakfast is truly something special. From start to finish, our stay felt magical. The property is absolutely beautiful, and every detail—from the thoughtfully decorated rooms to the overall atmosphere—reflects so much care and intention. The rooms were stunning, incredibly comfortable, and felt like a peaceful retreat. The hospitality was exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell the innkeepers truly love what they do, and it shows in every aspect of the experience. One of our favorite surprises was the gym with a ping pong table, which added such a fun and memorable touch to our stay. This is the kind of place that stays with you long after you leave. We are so grateful for the experience and can’t wait to return. Highly, highly recommend.

Honestly a beautiful place to stay. The owners are very nice and do an amazing job at maintaining a peaceful stay for everyone. The rooms are spacious and well maintained. There is beautiful wood art everywhere, too.

We booked the Captains Quarters for two nights while attending a ships reunion on the area. Quiet, Cosy and comfortable. Great breakfast with china and silverware (no plastic). Best granola ever. Friendly host.

This is such a beautiful place. The atmosphere was so quiet and calming. We had an extremely peaceful stay with excellent service. Breakfast was delicious and perfectly accommodating to our dietary quirks. It was wonderful to learn about the background of Fenton Inn and how all the trees that were cleared to build here were all completely utilized from the furniture to the fixtures, which is so amazing. Check in & out was so easy and such a huge time saver. I would recommend for everyone to enjoy the Fenton Inn experience.

This Inn was beautiful! We stayed in Swallows Nest which probably had the best views a room could have. We enjoyed our slow mornings sitting on the couch or in bed staring at the views. Convenient on site breakfast located just down the stairs from our room. Owners are very kind and helpful. Couldn’t beat the proximity to all of the activities - Waynesboro 25 minutes, Breweries 10-15 minutes, trails as close as 5 minutes. Rooms and building were very clean. Couples massage on site was lovely. Ping pong and pool table would’ve been used if we weren’t being lazy.

Great fall getaway for us Floridians. The innkeepers were super nice. Great breakfasts each day. Captains room was perfect for us. Clean and roomy for two. Several casual restaurants nearby. Close to hiking. A reasonable drive to Montecello. Views were fantastic.
